You know the feeling when something fairly small and relatively insignificant just confirms your suspicions that you made a really good choice?
I am a raving fan of the wonderful CaffeNeo (secret spot, no site, already too popular, we fear for the festive summer hordes).. on the weekend it’s jostling with kiddies and dogs and the usual gorgeous Cape Town crew. Out on the deck >> looking out over the azure Atlantic. From here it would appear to be just another classic Cape Town spot, yummy fresh food, wicked coffee, gorgeous art, freshest croissants.
BUT it’s during the week that it’s street cred throbs to life.
Seriously smart ones have foregone their offices & quietly run their empires from behind their screens or scribing pensively in their moleskines. It’s geek heaven.
NeoOffice has however enhanced it’s stature in the subtlest of ways in my eyes.. something small on a shelf did it (not really sure this was even intentional actually). They had a little Ubuntu box stacked with starter packs :) nice1 Neo - flippin smart if this was a branding decision!
BTW. if you have any idea why this made my heart leap with joy.. have you checked the Ubuntu shop - you can now sport your support in the most unusual spots! hmmm..geek cred without saying a word: though the caveat I guess would be that when you drop your clothes it would have to be in the presence of another linux lover for best effect :-P
that c0nfirms our spot for our next meet max. if i find a linux laptop before then ill be riding neo’s wi-fi waves too.
