Imagine if you will a clean white island of tranquility with superb service and utterly yummy foodies, as a welcome counterpoint to the frenetic work.office.calls.proposals.logistics.aaargh! end-of-year sprint>>
Mmm.. heavenly.

Such was the lunch I spent at in the fine company of Graham Knox, he, inspired and award-winning! winemaker (Stormhoek), ballsy marketer (most popularly celebrated for Stormhoek’s alliance with the legendary gapingvoid) and generally fascinating fellow.

So meandering from the second law of thermodynamics, through the exquisite and sometimes heartbreaking ephemeral nature of being human, anecdotes of rowdy luches with the iconic chef Robert Carrier, to sustainable business practice, and flooding life with legendary experiences to do before you die.. the convo was of the first order.

The food.. for fainting once again (Bruce xxx!)bruce robertson - genius discovered

I heartily recommend doing whatever it takes to get into The Showroom Restaurant while you can – just have a little peek at the menu - dinner especially.. for fun scroll down to the Lamborghini item ;-) (head to the restaurant to see why a 2.8million ZAR car is on the bill of fare).

Bruce Robertson (Showroom sire on left) is a genius in no small order, and sexy chef which probably helps :-P

Thank you to the two lovely men who distracted me so compellingly.. gracious Graham and Bruce, master of tongue-to-tummy titillation (ooh hang on, that sounded extremely rude & I’m sure I didn’t mean it to! sublime food is unquestioningly a weakness for the hunter of genius).

As for the rest of the afternoon: work?..what the hell is that? Decided to stick toes into warm white beach sand & watch the sun set over the Atlantic instead.. oh lordy, life in Cape Town is sooo rough.
(Have my suspicions almost confirmed now that Graham may be a secret agent for the Leisure Party)

PS. just remembered a post a few days ago that advocates just this sort of soulful lunching; from the Crossroads Dispaches blog of life-enhanced Evelyn Rodriguez whose words alone are edible P-:
..could just about justify the mooching till late in the afternoon with this kind of supportive logic!
