It’s so wacky how our world has changed! My mom mailed me today to remind me politely that I haven’t blogged here in 10 days :-/ ..kind of like those subtle suggestions that it may be advisable to tidy your room before guests arrive when you’re a kid.
Does it mean that our relationships are any less close with friends & family if we connect with each other through facebook, IM, twitter? I may be wrong, but from what I’ve seen, I think Facebook for one should be held responsible for …

I’m so bleak that I’ll be missing Eddie Obeng and Jon Foster-Pedley of Pentacle Business School in tandem session in Jo’burg on the 22nd of June.
They’re a pair of potent professors, passionate about the practical application of innovation and creative strategy.

Two days to go to grab the opportunity to become a benefactor of the iCommons Summit. And be heralded as a visionary for doing so (we love that!)
iCommons is helping to lay the foundation for cultural infrastructure that supports human brilliance to be shared freely, without the constraints of out.dated and suffocating controls that cut off innovation & creativity. This is a biggie – if you’ve been looking for a cause to support that will make a real impact on the future course of humanity: Creative Commons & iCommons are …

There’s been such an overwhelming wealth of good stuff happening and outrageously useful stuff to share… but at the heart of the storm there’s been total silence. I wish I could attribute it to fellow edu.revolutionary, the stellar Steli Efti who initiated the OneDayBlogSilence (which unexpectedly erupted into noise and chaos). How counterintuitive and paradoxical these times are!
It certainly hasn’t been for lack of inspiration. Something like the calm before the storm perhaps, perhaps the eye of the storm. Life has been rampant for everyone I know lately. Accelerating always …

Speed dating for entrepreneurs in the gorgeous little Mother City* last night >> zoomed into the ubersexy Extreme Hotel for about 28.3nanoseconds >>
because I couldn’t bear to be left out of at least a little of the fun at the new OpenCoffeeClub
South Africa’s first – started in London by powerhouse Saul Klein. Introduced to our shores by Eric Entrepreneur Edelstein.
Speed dating yields the quick & dirty blink instinct assessment. Maybe not perfect for business, but a whole lot more invigorating than the usual networking rounds of intro’s & pitches. For …

Dave Duarte (the Marketing Geek) announced the brand new course that we’re producing (thrilling!) for UCT’s Graduate School of Business
- Nomadic Marketing – scheduled 17 – 19 July
This 3day executive course will focus on marketing strategy that embraces leading-edge technology. By now even those deep in digital denial have had to pay attention to the economic and social impact of the internet and mobile technologies. The course is geared as an immersive introduction with real world case studies, and practical application that you don’t have to be a geek to …

There’s a little more than the standard warm fuzzies in this story >> It’s been a wild ride for Tertia lately and instead of crashing, she chose to use the power of participation on her blog to change the fortunes of a family. She’s raised hopes and a house for Harrison in 12hours flat. Check it out, and see if you don’t get all inspired to craft a your campaign to use YOUR powers for good!

Easy to smirk at this, but I had many moments of disturbing recognition (my fave part is the MC Escher bit.. Weird Al is utter nutter genius without a doubt). I know we’ve all seen it 10^3 of times already, but I had to: in celebration of all things geeky to get in the mood for tonight’s geekmeet.
… I think I’m in trouble. GeekDinner tonight and I am suffering the effects of overclocking my processor – bioware not keeping up. It’s ridiculously easy to go into a temporal warp …

.. my Monday SARocks! musings in honour of where my web AND real.world surfing adventures began.. back in Web 1.0. Huge respect to Dr Spike of Wavescape for helping me get my toes in the water..
This surfing web site seriously ranks among the world’s finest surf portals: so if you do blended reality surfing.. online and offline/offshore don’t miss Wavescape for your dose of stoke.
<< this little wicked one was my 2nd board. Tragically I gave it horns, but turns out I’m a pathetic waverider.. thank goodness there’s always online …

To celebrate they're launching their Page with a really fitting (sorry had to) competition.
Come up with a community-approved tagline (different ones sported under the masthead on the main site), and win a T-shirt with your clever tagline.
..AND a rather splendid weekend away in the bush, safari drives & meals included.
They're not just playing for fun: they are raising money for Child's Play, a gamer-created, gamer-supported charity that fulfills the wish lists of over 60 hospital's children's units worldwide. Each donation buys the games, the consoles and the movies that bring a little bit of fun into an otherwise gruelling hospital experience.
