One of the pleasures of roadtripping is discovering crazybeautiful spots along the way: tumbling your numb.bum out of the car and sharing the wander/wonder with your mates. Captain Chris took us to Herold’s Bay (home to Ernie Els) where he apparently spent many a rowdy night while doing his flight training.
^above^ the Cape Town geekgang – Chris, Max, Rafiq & Miguel (Dave our Marketing Geek behind the camera) heading back home after the GardenRoute’s first geekdinner. The dinner was so much fun, little sleep was had, much Stormhoek consumed & …

One of the very best things that we can do to nurture our capacity for genius is to occassionally refresh & challenge our thinking by breaking away from the cynical bastards who thrive on playing Devil’s Advocate to your beat your bright ideas into submission. And instead: hang out with others who dare to think and share wild & original thoughts.. and do it in a relaxed and playful environment. This is the basis of accelerated learning – it’s brain-friendly and pops us effortlessly into the realm of inspired …

Saturday night is the first of the 27dinners in Jo’burg and the lineup looks epic.. friends Paul (he of chilibean fame) Dave (the marvellous marketing geek) & MsRitz are on the speakers roll…& the guest list is throbbing with some fine form! I know Mike’s organising the whole shebang & maybe a little busy on the night but I’m sure he’ll get up there too & reveal a little of his legendary energy & insight into the wild opportunities abounding for South Africa in tech & marketing.

..”before we resume our regular programming: a word from our sponsors”..
AAAARGH!!! I swear I can hear an audible click as my brain defocusses and searches for an alt.activity to fill a few minutes. Oh I know there are those who remain placidly cow-eyed and obediently absorb, but increasingly our human immune response to, shall we say oldskool bacterial bombardment of ads thrown at us unbidden, is on high alert.
Though we are still very prone to viral campaigns it seems :-P
Like some frenzied biological warfare campaign from the labs of a …

I really want to tell you about how wonderful last night’s geekdinner was (think it may have been the global final for 2006 ). But a severe case of Christmas weekend writers block has befallen me zzzz :-/ .. my brain’s on cruise mode /// some lazy languid loll after a frenetic few days, nay weeks.. ah hell, months. whew. exhale.

I was courting the quirky gods of quantum mechanics I think.. for those of you who are getting the geekdinner post twice on your reader, apologies. I had to reconstruct quickly (but :’-( lost those great comments)
The original post just vapourised! not a trace of it.. like an electron twinkling in & out of existence, one minute it was there, then I turned back and *poof* gone. Anyone who has ANY clue why on earth this could ‘ve happened please clue me in – our WebAddiCT perhaps has an answer?

oh hooray.. silly season is almost in full bloom, and the grown-ups get to play too. Blogger tag coupled with a postsecret edge attached. I got tagged by Stopforth who was tagged by Dave Gale who started the game.. naughty Mike said it was 5 dirty little secrets (shriek!) but thankfully, tootling over to source I saw: it need only be 5 things not many people know about you – whew!! reprieve.
So herewith 5 (maybe oddball) lesser known aspects of Ms Maximillian Kaizen:

I have a deep and abiding fascination with time (as I guess most of us temporally-ensnared humans do – what would the plastic surgery industry be without feeding such obsession) ..(or in fact the Getting Things Done cult.ure of time management..wish I could say I was an acolyte, but I’m yet to crack the nod of the gods who dole out effortless efficiency).
No doubt each choose our own experience of time.. which accounts for the fact that at different points time flies, crawls, or horror!! those who go on an …

Imagine if you will a clean white island of tranquility with superb service and utterly yummy foodies, as a welcome counterpoint to the frenetic work.office.calls.proposals.logistics.aaargh! end-of-year sprint>>
Mmm.. heavenly.
Such was the lunch I spent at in the fine company of Graham Knox, he, inspired and award-winning! winemaker (Stormhoek), ballsy marketer (most popularly celebrated for Stormhoek’s alliance with the legendary gapingvoid) and generally fascinating fellow.
